Windscreen repair while you wait

When a stone or gravel hits the windscreen, it can cause a so-called “bull’s eye” chip on the glass. It’s always a good idea to have a chip in the windscreen repaired as soon as possible to prevent the damage from spreading and potentially causing the entire windscreen to crack.

Repairing a chip takes only about 20 minutes and can be done while you wait. If you have glass insurance, the repair is free of charge. We will handle the repair details and communicate with your insurance company on your behalf.

Repairing windscreen chip damage is a safety issue

Even the smallest chip can weaken the windscreen and compromise the safety of passengers. That’s why it’s essential to repair it as soon as possible. We recommend repairing a chip shortly after it occurs.

Stone chip in the windscreen – repair or replacement

A stone chip in the windscreen can usually be repaired if it is no larger than a two-euro coin. Additionally, the damage must be located in a clear area of the windscreen for the repair to be successful. The black area around the windscreen edges is known as the silk-screened area, where repairing a stone chip is not recommended as it may reduce the glass’s durability, affect the appearance, and prevent optimal adhesion of the repair material. When repairs are made close to the windscreen edge in the silk-screened area, there is also a risk that the windscreen may crack during the repair.

Damage to the camera and sensor area of the rearview mirror cannot be repaired, and the windscreen will need to be replaced. In borderline cases, it’s best to consult with an InCar glass expert to get the optimal solution.

Repairing a stone chip does not reduce the windscreen’s durability – a professionally performed repair restores the windscreen to the same strength as a fully intact one.

The windscreen can also be replaced

If the windscreen cannot be repaired, we offer a fast and high-quality replacement service. You can be sure your vehicle will be completely safe on the road even after the windscreen has been replaced. Read more about windscreen replacement or book a service easily.

Windscreen repaired with resin

Windscreen chip repair is a quick procedure that restores the durability and safety of the windscreen to that of a fully intact one. The repair always leaves a small mark, but at best, it is nearly imperceptible – up to 90% improvement is possible.

The repair is done using resin, which fills the cracks in and around the stone chip under pressure. If the damage appears to be spreading, a small hole can be drilled to prevent further expansion. The resin is cured into the glass using UV light. After curing, any excess resin is scraped off the windscreen, and the repaired area is then polished.

We offer our customers state-of-the-art service using the latest technologies. We also provide clear instructions on how to care for your windscreen to ensure its durability and prevent potential future damage.

Rear and side glass repair

When the rear or side glass breaks, replacing the glass is often necessary, as tempered glass shatters into small fragments and repair is typically not possible. Broken glass is always a safety issue, so installing new glass must be done quickly. At InCar, we also perform rear and side glass replacements and repairs.
